Stage 1 Girls Cricket registrations & format

Stage 1 Junior Girls Cricket this season is played in the HK&HDCA Association, currently scheduled for Friday evenings. The grade comprises players in the U10, U11, U12 age groups.

Stage 1 Juniors is great for girls who have never played cricket before and is the perfect place to start. Come and join the girls and have some fun.

Experience Level For any girls new to cricket and those who have participated in Stage 1 or Master Blasters Program in previous seasons
Age Guide U10 - U12
Location Grounds in the Hornsby, Hills District or North Shore
When Currently scheduled for Friday evenings
Opponents TBA
Players 7-8, possibly more.
Format
  • Batting against an agreed number of deliveries, approximately 12-18 balls faced per batter, depending on team numbers
  • Batters continue batting if "out".
  • Everybody gets a go at bowling
  • If the player cannot reach the other end in one bounce, stumps can be moved down the pitch to help with gaining skills, 
  • Rotated fielding positions, everyone gets a chance to field in different places
  • 2 wicket keepers per innings, to avoid time delays
  • Fielders can go on and off the field in rotation if the team has more than the maximum number of players.
  • Bowlers do not re-bowl wides or no-balls.
  • Scores are recorded but they do not matter.

What's provided? KPCC will provide a kit with equipment such as spare helmets, gloves, pads, bats.
Safety Helmet and Gloves are compulsory. Please purchase an abdominal guard.
Parent/Guardian involvement Parents & Guardians are encouraged to be involved in matches via scoring, umpiring, on-field helper or helping girls with equipment.

Equipment

The club will provide a kit containing helmets, thigh pads and gloves. Players are welcome to provide their own equipment and this is encouraged from a health and safety perspective.
