KPCC defeat Mt Colah by 76 runs
Kissing Point CC all out for 160 (69.3) defeated Mt Colah all out for 84 (51.2).
Kissing Point C3s, led by first time seniors captain Josh Hamilton, came into the grand final red-hot, having not lost a game from 13 December 2025 onwards. Boasting a young brigade and a couple of ‘uncles’, the team were raring to go at Mt Colah’s home turf.
Kissing Point lost the toss and were sent in to bat on a thick, Mt-Kuring-Gai Oval outfield on Day 1. Run scoring was tough going, even dogged efforts from Sam ‘Bunnings’ Harding (20 off 43), Davo Wilson (14 off 32) and Tom ‘T-Jamo’ Jameson (17 off 54) couldn’t halt a difficult start of 5/36 and then 7/68. Not too long after, the score was 8/84 after Jimmy Woods’ proactive 13.
No.8 batter Captain Josh and No. 10 batter Cam ‘MC Lagan’ McLagan then combined for one of the great fightbacks with a 68-run 9th wicket partnership. Josh was then dismissed for his highest score of the season, a crucial 32 off 98 balls and Cam continued MC Lagan Time to lift the team to 160, top scoring with 37 off 79. Kisso went out to field for 15 overs on Day 1 and it was Cam and Ben ‘Bender’ Dunstan who took the new ball.
Stop… it’s MC Lagan Time Again!
Cam took the first wicket with a fast in-swinger right onto the pads! Kissing Point was up and about until Mt Colah put on another 35 runs to end the day on 1-43, 118 runs to get. The game was very much in the balance heading into Day 2.
A new day, but it was still MC Lagan Time as Cam took 2 more wickets to leave Mt Colah on 3/51! Cam finished his herculean grand final effort with 3/17 off 11 overs. After tidy spells from Bender and Kaiden ‘K-Train’ Phillips, Kissing Point’s favourite uncle Anu ‘Anu-mal’ Mohan was brought into the attack. With the game very much in the balance, the 2nd season cricketer produced the game-changing grand final spell Kisso was after, snatching 3/15 off 12 overs! The spell included the ball of the season against Mt Colah’s captain and leading run scorer in the C3 competition, bowling the perfect inswinger from around the wicket to beat the right-handed defence and hit the top of off stump! Mt Colah’s captain out for 0, Kissing Point up and about, Mt Colah nervous and in all sorts at 6/66!
Kisso still maintained their ruthlessness as the score became 9/73, thanks to 3 quick wickets from Bender! He finished with best figures of the match, 3/7 off 10 overs, including 5 maidens!! With 1 wicket to go, Kissing Point nearly had their moment when Jimmy Woods (0/10 off 3) hit the off stump, the only issue (as Josh would describe it) … “Jim forgot to also remove the bail”. Captain Josh kept things tight (0/14 off 6) before K-Train (1/10 off 9.2, including 4 maidens) got the final wicket for Kissing Point to take out the C3s premiership by 76 runs!!
This was a fabulous team effort from a tight knit and happy group, and the Club congratulates them on an inspiring effort.
